While the world debates whether artificial intelligence will save or destroy us, forward-thinking leaders are asking a different question entirely: What if AI’s greatest gift is what it reveals about being human?
The headlines are relentless. The conversations are charged. And if you’re like most of the leaders, creators, and innovators I work with, you see both the extraordinary potential and the legitimate concerns. But there’s something more interesting than the debate of being for or against AI and it’s brewing beneath the surface of this technological revolution.
I recently sat down with Isaac Bowen and Abe Lopez of Lightward for a conversation about AI and human potential. What emerged was fascinating: AI could in fact be the exact catalyst we need to remember what truly matters.
Think about it: When was the last time you felt truly, authentically connected—to yourself, to others, to your work? If you’re struggling to answer, you’re not alone. We’ve been operating in a system that often values output over alignment, metrics over meaning. Human beings are exhausted.
Here’s what’s becoming clear: As AI takes over more of our cognitive heavy lifting, what becomes invaluable isn’t our ability to process information faster or work longer hours. What’s becoming invaluable is our capacity for:
- Deep human connection
- Authentic self-expression
- Creative innovation
- Emotional intelligence
- Intuitive wisdom
As Abe pointed out in our conversation,
As AI becomes more democratized and more people use it, we are going to value intelligence in a different way. It’s not going to be this elite thing anymore. What we’re going to value is human connection and what we can create as ourselves. Because anyone can draft an email or speech with AI…but how deep can we go? How safe can we make each other feel? How loved can we make each other feel? That’s going to be elevated a bit more in the coming years.
This isn’t just philosophical musing. This is practical reality. The leaders and organizations that will thrive in this emerging landscape aren’t those trying to compete with AI’s processing power. They’re the ones using this moment to reclaim their full human capacity.
What does this mean for you?
- Stop trying to be a better machine
- Start cultivating what makes you uniquely human
- Let AI handle what AI does best
- Focus your energy on your unique gifts
The irony isn’t lost on me: It took the advent of artificial intelligence to remind us of the sophistication of our natural intelligence. But perhaps that’s exactly what we needed.
As Isaac shared,
The advent of AI is a portal back to our own humanity. It’s an invitation to stop fragmenting ourselves, to stop trying to operate like computers, and to remember that our greatest power has always been our capacity for deep connection, innovation, and love.
The future belongs not to those who can outthink AI, but to those who can access and integrate aspects of intelligence that AI can’t touch—the wisdom of the body, the insight of the heart, the spark of genuine human connection.
Are you ready to accept this invitation? To let AI be AI so you can be more fully you?
The revolution isn’t coming. It’s here. And it’s calling for the full spectrum of your human capacity, not an upgrade to your processing power…any machine can do that.

I’d love to hear from you…is AI freeing you up to enjoy the human experience more, and if not, can you see a way for AI to give you increased freedom to focus on what you can uniquely do?
